This fold-up cargo basket mounts to your 2" receiver. When not in use you can fold it up towards the back of your vehicle.

The basket, itself, has a 500 lb. capacity, however, the amount you can safely carry is determined by your individual vehicle's towing capacity. For example, if your truck can tow 5,000 lbs that means it can handle a tongue weight of 500 lbs. Tongue weight is 10% of the total trailer weight and it's the calculated weight that your truck or car's rear suspension can handle. If your car has a towing capacity of 2,000 lbs, your tongue weight would be a max of 200 lbs. Since the cargo basket is mounted at the same spot your trailer tongue would be its cargo weight would be the same as a tongue weight which in this case would be 200 lbs.
